Maddie Denman

Maddie Denman is from Yellow Springs, Ohio and received her BFA in Dance from the Ohio State University in 2022 and her BA in Communication Technology in 2023, graduating cum laude with Research Distinction and Media, Marketing and Communications Scholars. She found her love of dance at Stivers School for the Arts where she attended the International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD), and the Ailey School Summer Program, and other summer training programs. While at Ohio State University she performed in works by Abby Zbikowski, Bebe Miller, Crystal Michelle Perkins, Daniel Roberts and Paul Taylor as well as serving as lead curator for Dance@30fps in collaboration with the Wexner Center for the Arts. As a creator she works in the intersections of dance, technology, and film; to complete Research Distinction in dance she created two parallel works, an intermedia solo “Loaming” and a group dance film. Upon graduation from OSU Dance she danced with Whirlwind Dance, under the direction of Joshua Manculich, in their first season, and InPulse Dance Company, under the direction of Trezon Dancy. She also performed in Ohio Dance Festival in works by Brianna Rhodes and Momar Ndiaye. In addition to performing as a freelance dancer in Columbus she taught Modern and Composition at BalletMet’s Academy as well as teaching for their in-school education programs. She is excited to join Solarium this season.
